1)      The 3M Transparency Recycling Program was launched in early 1996. To date well over 500 companies have participated by recycling their used transparencies.  Over 200,000 pounds of transparencies have been collected, recycled, and reused in a variety of products.

The Recycling of 3M Transparency film closes a loop and completes a circle of recovery. What begins as an effective presentation tool comes full circle as a recycled component in a variety of everyday items: fiber fill for chairs and carpeting; automotive products; more transparency film; insulation; and many more useful products made from polyester.

Important as it is, concern for the environment isn't the only reason to recycle used transparencies. On a more practical level, recycling also helps to reduce disposal costs. If enough people recycle, it will also increase the supply of raw materials and help keep costs and prices down for everyone.

5)       Latex process waste - A plant which utilizes natural latex generates approximately eight-twelve 55-gallon drums of waste latex per day, which it cannot re-use due to it’s manufacture of an FDA-approved sanitary product.  This liquid waste includes 25-30% solids (latex solids).  They currently have to solidify the waste and send all of it to a landfill.  Therefore, they are looking for someone who will take this waste for free for re-use.  Contact waste01@ecollc.net if you have a use for this waste.

7)       Metal staples removed from paper - We remove all of our staples from paper to be recycled, and save them.  Can we send them to someone who can recycle them into staples or other useful metal products?  Contact mystaples@ecollc.net.  

8)       Meat processing wastewater with sodium chloride contamination -  Could be used as brine solution for other food preservation, or other uses.  Contact waste02@ecollc.net if you have as use for this waste.

12)    The Waste Reduction Resource Center (WRRC) provides technical Pollution Prevention (P2) support to the states in EPA Region III and EPA Region IV. 36)   U.S. Postal Service, Greensboro, NC District – has a 55-gallon drum (full) of Terrazo Seal (#112) manufactured by Hill Mfg. Co. Hill Mfg. Co. says that it can be used on: concrete (dry areas only) – since our docks are not enclosed we cannot use it (water causes damage to product); on wooden floors; and on tile (not bathroom/will turn white around water). 37)   I will clean any salt-water damaged area and guarantee natural grass growth within two to six weeks. This is not an encapsulation product.
